It's also good for maximizing the usefulness of 'Mechs equipped with a variety of weapons, some of which may not function well against enemies that are very close.īreaching shot goes through the Bulwark/Guarded state, and can be used in conjuction with Multishot: if you fire one weapon at 3 different targets, each weapon will go through any guarded state. Multishot is good for removing evasion pips from multiple 'Mechs (to maximize the effect in metagaming), and also for taking out several glass canon-type units like vehicles. That's absolutely necessary to keep a lightly armored 'Mech within visual range of the enemy, and is also a good idea for other 'Mechs that you plan to keep moving, like flankers. ![]() In order to get max evasive chevrons, you need both a highly mobile 'Mech and a high piloting skill MechWarrior. ![]() Piloting won't be used for the evasive pips so much, since that's the opposite of not moving to enable Bulwark, but it could still be useful for the increase in melee to-hit chances.Įvasive Move is for scouts and mobile fire. Gunnery means he will be a frontline combatant, dealing damage while he's taking it. What you take as a secondary skill is open for debate: Tactics means you can use your front guy as a pure damage sponge while he's spotting for the rest of the group and removing evasive chevrons. ![]()
